Public benefits

Advancement of education for women. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes seeking funding for resources and courses for the group to reach out to the women of the community and build essential links. This is demonstrated through having an active womans' group that works in partnership with the community and other bodies. The public

benefit will be enhanced knowledge and understanding to all in the area through discussion of topical issues, the exchange of ideas. principles of good citizenship. The benefits are demonstrated through the increased knowledge and understanding and the support and companionship which is achieved. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for the women of the guild and the communities supported. To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure occupation. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes improvement in conditions for life, to improve health and well-being. The purpose which flows includes increased participation, in activities and events to ensure the women increase their skill, enjoyment and social interaction, ultimately leading to an improvement in mental and physical health. This is demonstrated through having access to resources, equipment, attending events and activities which would not otherwise be available. The purpose will not lead to harm. This demonstrated through having an active group who have come together to organise charitable events and also through increased participation. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for the women of the guild and the communities supported.

What your organisation does

The Women's Guild prides itself in involvement in local, national and global concerns. Members meet regularly to develop new skills, exchange ideas, discuss topical issues and organise charitable events. The Guild aims to encourage members to play an active role in their communities and provides opportunity for women to belong to an organisation

which offers support and companionship. Outings this year have included a visit to Dobbies Garden Centre, Boat Trip on Lagan, visit to Mount Stewart Gardens and Alexanders, Markethill. We have funded Craft Classes (Card Making and Scrap-booking)

Charitable purposes

The objects of the Guild are:- 3.1 to advance the education of women irrespective of race, creed and party so as to enable them to make the best contribution towards the common good; 3.2 to educate such women in the principles of good citizenship and in all public questions both national and international; 3.3 to advance the education of the public by carrying out research into any public questions whether local, national or international and publishing the useful results of such research; 3.4 to advance the education of the public by promoting public understanding of any subject of educational value where women have particular knowledge or experience; and 3.5 to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation for such women in the interests of social welfare and with a view to improving their conditions of life.
