Public benefits

The trustees believe that both our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement. Purposes 1-3: The direct benefits which flow from these purposes include provision of a place of worship for the community as well as spiritual and psychological well being, unity and companionship within the community. There is also the moral

improvement that comes through instruction in the faith. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from those who attend our meetings. It is also evident through improved community morale and welfare. It is a central tenet of the Christian faith that no harm, but only abundant life, can come from lovingly shepherding believers in the knowledge of Christ and His teachings, and this is what we praactice. The beneficiaries of these purposes are those living in and around the Ards Peninsula who attend our worship meetings and bible study seminars. Such beneficiaries are likely to be Christians, from a wide range of denominational backgrounds (we are a non-denominational Church), or those who are open to the possibility of embracing the Christian faith. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purposes 4-7: These purposes comprise the outreach component of our ministry. The direct benefits which flow from these purposes include the improved physical, mental, financial/material, and family situations of the disadvantaged, diseased, and addicted people who we minister to. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from beneficiaries and their families and close friends. These purposes do not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of these purposes are people living in and around the Ards Peninsula who either come into our drop in centre or are referred to us. We do not discriminate beneficiaries on any other basis except need. We aide all of those who come to us in need. There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes.
