This promotes individual fulfilment and a high quality of life and provides an innovative service that will make a meaningful difference to the lives of the Villagers, their carers and families. Independent inspections are carried out by RQIA and other regulatory bodies. • Villagers acquire new skills and are enabled to make a valuable contribution to their Community. • Villagers contribute to their individual Care Plan, as do their family and health professional. 4. Training work provides for the continuance of a holistic approach for children and adults with learning disabilities based on the Camphill Principles supported by the requisite level of care. Residents and day attendees are provided with a foundation for further learning, personal development, work, a sense of responsibility and dignity, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives. Benefits are evidenced through • Residents choosing to live and be part of the community. • Regular feedback is received from the villagers, their families and independent evaluation and inspections. Announced and unannounced inspections are carried out by RQIA, the Designated Person and other regulatory bodies. • The development of the individual’s range of abilities, enabling them to reach their full potential. The purposes stated do not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries are learning disabled children, young adults and adults from Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, who choose to live in and be part of the Glencraig Village Community. In addition, the immediate family members derive a substantial intangible benefit, in the knowledge that their family member is being looked after in a safe and secure environment, where the focus is on the individual’s ability, not disability. Private benefit- The purposes may create a private benefit to directors, co-workers and employees through ongoing training in Education and Residential Care and good governance. Through this training these individuals gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings, but the benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to the beneficiaries and flow from the over-riding aim to provide as fully as possible for the children, young people and adults who are resident in or attend the community.
