Purpose The Direct Benefits which flow from the Purpose How Benefits will be Evidenced Harm Arising, Beneficiaries/Private Gain 1 Advance active citizenship/community development by providing programmes/facilities/services for individuals/community/voluntary groups/organisations. Promote good community relations/religious/racial

harmony/equality/diversity. Advance conflict/resolution/reconciliation. Raise cultural awareness within/between communities in area of benefit. Advance improvements in housing/environment/community safety. Monitoring numbers of people: Who contact staff for assistance with a wide range of issues/Housing/Environmental/Community Safety Issues. Assisted with issues relating to the Interface Recording numbers of meetings/seminars/visits relating to interface issues. Attending public meetings/information sessions/consultations organised by staff. Increased number of local community group’s staff assist. The number of local residents/groups who participate in Forum Community Safety Initiatives. Production of a local community magazine delivered free to every home in the Neighbourhood promoting activities of the Forum/Member Groups. Produce reports to relevant agencies showing targets met/enhanced. Feedback from Users/Member Groups/Funders. No harm should arise from these purposes. beneficiaries: Member Groups/Volunteers/Local Residents/Unemployed/People with Housing/Environmental Issues/ Disadvantaged/individuals/families Individuals/Families who live on the Interface. There is no intentional private gain from any of these benefits for staff, Directors or Member Groups. 2 Advance education/delivering training that addresses the employment needs of the unemployed. Providing Community based education/training courses for local people to enhance employability. Facilitating access to additional support services to enable people to avail of courses i.e. childcare/counselling/job assist. Numbers of unemployed people participating in courses who receive accredited qualifications move on to further education/gain employment. Harm arising: loss of funding unable to provide courses. Beneficiaries: Residents/Unemployed/Disadvantaged/Women Returners/Ex-prisoners/Disability/special needs with few/no qualifications Beneficiaries gain accredited qualifications which enhances their skills/employability. 3 Promote Health/Well Being, primarily by providing counselling/support services. Number of people: Contacting Counselling Project for support/receive professional counselling. Signposted for Family support services. Feedback from beneficiaries Harm arising: loss of funding Counselling Project unable to provide Services to vulnerable people. Beneficiaries’ individuals/families: With mild/moderate mental health issues/Who are suicidal/have self-harmed/Individuals/families/ friends of loved ones who have taken their own lives/referred to the Forum for support 4 Relieve those in need by reason of youth/age/ill-health/disability/ financial hardship/other disadvantage/Promote Amateur sport/Promote other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined. People with disabilities/special needs who avail of support from staff/Projects. Young people/older people who receive support/services from staff/Projects. People with health problems who receive support/assistance or signposted to other Services. What your organisation does

The Lenadoon Community Forum as a Community Organisation Promotes the physical/social/ Environmental regeneration of the greater Lenadoon area through the advancement of active citizenship/community development by providing programmes/facilities/services for individuals and community/voluntary groups and organisations. The Forum provides support

and facilitation to a number of its member groups including residents associations/groups/networks and individuals on Housing/Environmental/Community Safety issues. It facilitates meetings between residents/N.I.H.E/Housing Associations/Belfast City Council/DRD/DoE and any other Statutory/Government Department who has a responsibility for Housing/Environment or Community Safety. It facilitates consultation and information events between residents and Statutory/Housing bodies on pertinent issues impacting on the local community from proposed new build housing schemes, planned housing improvement schemes, street cleaning, lighting, traffic calming, road/transport infrastructure and community safety issues in the Hot Spots identified by local residents. The Forum also hosts a number of events throughout the year in relation to older residents such as its Winter Warmer Event held prior to Christmas every year. In addition to the above the Forum Builds relationships with the Suffolk community across the Suffolk/Lenadoon Interface through the development of Joint Initiatives and cross community projects aimed at enhancing Safety around the interface and increasing the capacity for joint working. The Forum provides a lobbying role on a number of Strategic Boards to influence Policy and provision in the greater lenadoon area. It advances Education through its Training/Employment Project that helps address the needs of the Long Term Unemployed/Women Returners/Disadvantaged and provides a locally based Community Counselling Project to assist/support local people encountering Mental Health & Well Being Issues.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following: To promote the advancement of citizenship or community development for the public benefit in the Lenadoon area by any charitable means, including the following: (1) by providing programmes, facilities and services for individuals and community and voluntary groups and organisations; (2) advance education, in particular by delivering training that addresses the employment needs of the unemployed; (3) promote health and well-being, primarily by providing counselling and family support services; (4) promote good community relations, religious and racial harmony and equality and diversity; (5) advance conflict resolution and reconciliation and raise cultural awareness within and between communities in the area of benefit; (6) promote amateur sport; (7) advance improvements in housing, the environment and community safety; (8) relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; (9) promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
