Public benefits

Through the provision of sporting facilities the general public are able to access a range of physical activities designed to improve overall or specific levels of fitness and therefore gaining from all the associated health benefits that come from an leading an active lifestyle. Through the provision of facilities for the advancement of

social,cultural and recreation activities the general public can benefit from social inclusion and interaction whilst alleviating social isolation. The public can be made aware of any issues in the community and how it may affect them. This can be evidenced through surveys and regular independent evaluation of our facilities. There is no harm flowing from these purposes. There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes and these facilities are available to everyone.

What your organisation does

The Derrygonnelly Community Centre Support Group runs and maintains a community hall in the village of Derrygonnelly and charges minimal hire fees to use the facilities. The fees collected are used to maintain the hall. The Group provides facilities such as indoor soccer, basketball, netball, badminton, bowls and keep fit equipment to local groups

and maintains a safe, clean and warm environment for the playing of sport. The Group also organizes social dances and concerts with the intention of bringing the community together.

Charitable purposes

The Derrygonnelly Community Centre Support Group is established to support by means of financial assistance any charitable projects promoted by Derrygonnelly Community Centre Support Group for the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for benefit of the general public for the playing of sports designed to promote health and fitness in Derrygonnelly and its environs in Co. Fermanagh and to provide the facilities for the advancement of the social, cultural and recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
