... [more] [less]What your organisation does
We provide a weekly service to senior citizens in a rural isolated area. We collect our participants at their own home and take them to Strabane some 20 miles away. There they can do their shopping and then they go to a local luncheon club for lunch and a game of bingo. We then leave them all home to their own homes and help them in with their
shopping. We also provide various outings throughout the year. This service is all provided by volunteers. We provide reduced cost meals, transport, etc as well as having speakers at the luncheon club who will provide information on benefits and grants.
