The public benefit that flow from our purposes are to increase understanding and awareness of Filipino culture within our own community and to the wider community groups regardless of religious affiliations,ethnic backgrounds, race, beliefs,ages and gender and for the Filipino community from children,teens and adults to know,understand,maintain,
develop,promote and to take pride in their unique identities ,culture,customs and traditions that were handed down from generation to the next through facilitation of relevant events and projects that will allow opportunities to develop Filipino culture through dances ,music ,arts and crafts , and have active involvement and community to be more engage in activities of wider communities and create a positive legacy of skills and experiences for developing further initiatives around diversity,inclusion and community relations. Our beneficiaries will be the Filipino community,the members and their families ,members of the ethnic minority in the North West and the wider communities who participate in our events. The benefits will be evidenced through using sign in sheets and by gathering feedback (verbal and written), questionnaires from our community members and attendees for all various activities that we hold and regular trustee meetings reviewing these feedbacks .Also by committee reviewing the baseline needs assessment on April 2014 to monitor the needs being addressed. There will be no harm flowing from our purposes.There is no private benefit arising from our purposes.

Kabalikat ( pronounced as 'Ka-ba-leek-at') is a Filipino word meaning 'Solidarity'. Our group is entirely voluntary .The main activities of our group are to promote Filipino culture for socialisation,integration and awareness through organising cultural festivals,events and projects in terms of traditional dances,music,movie,arts and crafts and
education through provision of relevant trainings to the Filipino community in the North West. Kabalikat in NorthWest attracts members of ethnic minority and migrants.We facilitate activities that allow community involvement of members within our own community and with the wider community.We also promote diversity in the North West area through facilitation of our own cultural activities and projects and also through participation and support of events of other community groups and statutory agencies.Our youth activities provide opportunities for children and young people through participation in sports activities,traditional Filipino games, language class and performances in traditional dances and music and involvement in traditional arts and craft workshops that leads in understanding,maintaining and valuing their culture.We raised funds for the typhoon Haiyan appeal,visits different schools, after school clubs and summer schemes and delivers workshops on Philippine traditional arts and crafts and Filipino food ,participated in different parades like St.Patrick's Day,Earhart Festival, Disability Action Group and the North West Carnival Initiative . Through the Black and Ethnic Minority Strategic Forum coordinated by Derry City Council ,we are building our capacity and work strategically with other BME groups and statutory agencies in the North West. As we develop we are beginning to work strategically with statutory providers towards equalityand accessibility of services relevant to the Filipino community in the North West.Our priorities are derived from our baseline survey of needs (conducted April 2014).
