Public benefits

The company’s objects are specifically restricted to the advancement of education and relief of those affected by physical disability and/or sensory impairment and their families and carers in the Mid Ulster District Electoral area in particular but not exclusively by the provision of advocacy services, peer mentoring and support, information,

training and advice. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose is improved educational and social opportunities, increased social integration, decreased isolation, enhanced self esteem/confidence and increased capacity to maximise potential. These benefits can be demonstrated through evaluations of our work, through feedback from beneficiaries, and from success stories of people becoming more engaged with their communities feeding into and hopefully helping shape the local and wider community. There is no risk of harm to participants. As a Company Ltd by Guarantee 60% of our Board of Management are persons with disabilities. There may be indirect benefit to Directors with and without disabilities who may benefit from the services we offer. Assessment for and delivery of any services will be the same as for any other person who may benefit from it.

What your organisation does

We work in partnership with people with disabilities in order to ensure that each individual has the knowledge the supports and the capacity to maximise their potential as equal citizens. We do this through, the provision of learning opportunities that are tailored to the individuals needs. We support people to access advocacy services or where

possible to advocate by themselves with support of a peer mentor this may be a person with a disability or not.We ensure through the provision of access to technology that people with disabilities have access to information and advice. We support people with disabilities on a one to one or group basis to get involved in the life of the community.
