Feis Bhéal Feirste organises an annual feis in Irish Language and Poetry in both primary and secondary schools in the greater Belfast area that are not in the Irish medium sector. We provide the syllabuses and certificates to the participating schools and the teachers run a feis in their own schools. The winners then proceed to the inter schools
feis which takes place on two days annually - one day for the primary schools and one for the secondary schools. Certificates, medals and cups are awarded to individual winners with shields for the best schools. Around 25 primary schools take part together with 15 secondary schools and include schools from the integrated sector.
