The direct benefits which flow from this purpose (which is the advancement of religion through various activities) include - Promoting the practice of religion and acts of kindness associated with it which result in the well-being of followers and those within the reach of the church. Services are open to all who wish to attend. - Providing

opportunity for the public to maintain their belief in God and to have opportunity to express themselves in acts of worship – creating a sense of community and belonging. Services are open to all who wish to attend. - Providing education and teaching which promotes moral improvement and nurtures good citizenship – benefitting society in general - Encouraging people to associate with the church through various activities for children and young people - Supporting Christians at home and overseas through visitation, acts of kindness, gifts of food, befriending and provision of recordings of services with a view to people feeling included, cared for and loved. The benefits will be demonstrated through annual reports on the various activities and feedback from those involved. The charity’s benefits are provided to those within the geographic reach of the church – which is primarily people living in Dundonald, Holywood, Newtownards, Bangor and East Belfast. There is no requirement for beneficiaries to be members of the charity. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is the salary paid to the pastor and his wife and this is incidental and necessary in the furtherance of the charity’s purposes – in particular the public worship and visitation / pastoral care aspects.

What your organisation does

The core weekly programme encourages people of all ages to meet for worship, praise and Bible teaching each Sunday morning and evening. Children and young people have teaching geared to their age group. Each Thursday the church meets for prayer and various Bible study groups meet through the year. The youth group meets weekly providing opportunity

for recreation, developing new skills and friendship. This is supplemented by weekends away and activities with similar youth groups within the local community throughout the year. Every Sunday opportunity exists for social interaction over tea/coffee and light supper and there is prayer ministry for those who would like to be prayed for. Helping those in need is a demonstration of our faith and visitation of families and those in difficult circumstances is carried out – offering pastoral care and practical provision to meet needs. The Church is one of a number of local churches supporting the Dundonald food bank with voluntary food donations. There are additional special and seasonal events which are an opportunity to reach out into the local community. Our website www.crossroadschurch.co.uk provides opportunity for subscribers to receive regular updates, information on activities and events and a monthly church newsletter providing news and encouragement. The teaching during services is recorded and is distributed on request to those who were unable to attend. We are in the process of building a new modern facility in the local area where we will continue to develop a strong family focused programme of church/community initiatives to effectively engage the local population and present God's love and grace through innovative and creative ministries. Our primary aim and purpose is to be a "centre for the community" and a place where people will find help, encouragement and recovery from the difficulties and challenges of life and ultimately for individuals to experience the life transforming Grace of God.
