Public benefits
All of the Foundation's purposes are achieved by awarding grants to charitable organisations for the benefit of people in Northern Ireland who are disabled or disadvantaged. All grants are awarded on the basis of evidence that the funding will have a positive impact on the beneficiaries. All organisations that receive a grant are required to
demonstrate the direct and indirect benefits their work has on people in need via monitoring and evaluation which the assessment team thoroughly review. Since the Foundation was established, some £30 million has been donated for the benefit of people in need throughout Northern Ireland to support initiatives in social & community welfare, education and training. There is no harm or potential for harm as a result of the purposes of the Foundation and no one gains any private benefit as a result of the purposes being carried out.
