Public benefits

Purpose one The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved health outcomes and reduced levels of stress and anxiety. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from people within the local community and health professionals within the local health services. In providing support, advice and help to people who are currently

experiencing or have experienced mental health issues we aim to fill the gap between services and service users. Purpose two The direct benefits which flow from this purpose is to inform, educate and help people to understand the positive benefits of volunteering, taking part in activities and sessions within the local community. This having a proven effect on a person mental, physical, emotional and social well-being. Purpose three The direct benefits which flow from this purpose is to help people understand mental illness, the topics it includes and its importance to public benefit. The benefit also is to reduce the stigma around mental health issues enabling more people to be aware of where they can access help and support. There is no harm or private benefit flowing from the purposes. The beneficiaries are those living in the County Antrim area who have experienced or who are currently experiencing mental health problems.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (‘the objects’) are:- a) To provide for the public benefit help, support and advice to people living in the County Antrim area (the “area of benefit”) who have experienced, or who are currently experiencing, mental health problems. b) To advance health and well-being in the area of benefit by training volunteers, facilitating peer support activities, organising group sessions and providing alternative therapies. c) To raise awareness and understanding of mental illness among the public in the area of benefit.
