Public benefits

Purposes: a) To enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age within the Triax area of benefit. b) To encourage parents to understand and provide for the needs of children through working in partnership with relevant agencies living within the Triax area of benefit. Public benefit statement The trustees

believe that both our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement. Purpose one. The direct benefits which flow from purpose (a) include:- 1) Improvement in the child’s ability to learn by encouraging stimulating play, improving language skills and the early identification and support of children with emotional, learning or behavioural difficulties. 2) Improved health by supporting parents in caring for children and promoting children’s health and development. These benefits are demonstrated through our bespoke Outcomes Framework which was developed within the Project to allow improvements in how the impact of all the work is monitored and evaluated. This involved identification of the intended outcomes of each service and a process to measure the impact of the Project’s work with children and families. Every programme, service and setting has been the subject of an outcomes review and staff have been involved in agreeing the outcomes for each activity. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are children aged 0 – 4 years living in the Triax area of Derry City Council. Purpose two. The direct benefits which flow from purpose (b) include improved social development by supporting the development of early relationships between parents and children, good parenting skills, family functioning and early identification and support of children with emotional, learning or behavioural difficulties. These benefits are demonstrated through our bespoke Outcomes Framework which was developed within the Project to allow improvements in how the impact of all the work is monitored and evaluated.
