Public benefits

The Mourne Evangelical Trust meets the public benefit requirement by providing benefit to the general public by making known the Christian Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through the advancement of religion. The direct benefits which flow from the purposes of the Trust include the gaining of an understanding in Christian beliefs as set out in the

Bible leading to spiritual and moral development and opportunities for response to Bible teaching. The Trust also provides an opportunity for fellowship and edification of those that attend public meetings which may be organised by the Trust. Generally public access is made known through the use of noticeboards, printed material, press advertising, websites and social media or in other ways. The benefits are demonstrated through evaluation of the meetings that have taken place by trustees and by informal and ad-hoc feedback from members of the public who have attended meetings. The purpose does not lead to harm. There are no private benefits. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the general public who are able to attend meetings and thereby have the opportunity for spiritual and moral development, fellowship and edification as set out above.

What your organisation does

We aid the Christian Church in its ministeries by specialist services whereby the Word of God is presented to children and young people so that those to whom it is presented may be led to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. To promote thoughtful Bible reading among people of all ages. Hold public meetings for the preaching of the Gospel of

the grace of God, and for fellowship and the edification of Christians. We erect a 1200 seater marquee in a field belonging to Mr Austen Alexander on the outskirts of Newcastle at Corrigs road for two weeks each year during July when the Word of God is preached each morning and evening.People of all ages attend from the town and from many parts of Ireland for fellowship, the edification of Christians, and the preaching of the Gospel of the grace of God.
