The public benefits that flow from Object 2 are: (i) enhanced knowledge and understanding of the geography, social and economic history and architecture of the Cathedral Quarter; (ii) increased stimulation to creatively re-use historic buildings and thereby assist in their preservation and usefulness. 3. The public benefits that flow from Object 3 are: (i) enhanced activity, engagement and participation in social activities by the beneficiaries, leading to improvement in their health and well-being and quality of life; (ii) increased opportunities to engage in new activities that bring people together, leading to greater social cohesion and personal fulfilment. 4. The public benefits that flow from Object 4 are: (i) increased efficiency and effectiveness of the community and voluntary groups and organisations encouraged or assisted by the Trust, resulting in enhanced outcomes and service delivery and, consequently, an improved quality of life for those who benefit from the work of these groups and organisations; (iii) increased opportunities for the public to access the arts as a result of an extended range of arts and cultural activities and events taking place. 5. The public benefits that flow from Object 5 are: (i) the preservation of the Cathedral Quarter’s unique and individual character for the aesthetic and intellectual enjoyment of current and future generations and the development of a sentiment of connectedness and continuation over the generations; (ii) the raising of standards, and the maintenance of high standards, in the fields of planning, architecture and economic, environmental and social regeneration. The beneficiaries are members of the public who visit, work and live in the Cathedral Quarter and visitors to Northern Ireland who visit the Cathedral Quarter; members of marginalised groups within society or those who lack opportunity or suffer disadvantage and/or social isolation; and members of the public who benefit from the work of community and voluntary organisations engaged in cultural and arts projects and initiatives. These benefits are evidenced by the findings of community and social attitude surveys, internal and external evaluations of the activities and impact of the Trust and other participating arts and cultural organisations, data on the numbers of people attending or participating in activities, events or performances and feedback from the participants. No harm arises from these purposes. Some private benefit may be gained by any business in the Cathedral Quarter while arts activities and events are taking place, but this is purely incidental and is greatly outweighed by the public benefit generated by these activities and events.
