Public benefits
The direct benefit, which flows from the advancement of religion, includes the spreading of the principles of Christianity through raising awareness and understanding of Christian beliefs and practices. On-going training is offered to continue the work and advance the purposes of Commission. This work also extends into the area of missionary
outreach. These benefits are evidenced through the encouragement of moral and spiritual improvement of society in the UK, Ireland and overseas. We also receive constructive feedback from radio stations that have requested our programmes and this in turn helps us to determine the content and direction of future productions.

Commission is the UK’s only independent producer of Christian radio drama. Our output includes Bible dramas, magazine and music programmes, documentary strands and International Religious News. We also write and produce ‘Just a Moment’ slots for our local Downtown Radio. Our programmes are also used in other parts of the UK and Ireland, and abroad
by a number of radio stations namely Transworld Radio UK and Reach Beyond which broadcasts to south East Asia and the Pacific Rim. A weekly 1-hour youth music show (Venue 52) is produced, playing Christian pop/rock music. The show is syndicated and is currently airing on 10 stations across the UK, Ireland, Canada and America. In late 2013 Commission expanded its technical facilities to make further use of the Studio 1 acoustic space and its control room, and has installed a new software based Music Recording Facility. We have recently recorded local choirs, solo artists and a Hungarian choir who were visiting Northern Ireland. This move into more complex music recording is a positive step for Commission and hopefully opens the door to a much wider audience. It is our wish to encourage anyone who believes they have a particular musical talent to use the facility and in so doing have the opportunity to develop both their musical and interpersonal skills.
