Public benefits

1. To advance the education of women irrespective of race, creed and party so as to enable them to make the best contribution towards the common good. - The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are to: increase citizenship and social interaction, wider knowledge, broadening horizons, and positive mental health. - These benefits will be

evidenced through: support of members at guild events and their feedback, content of annual report, participation at local/national conferences. - We do not believe there is any clear harm flowing from this purpose. - The charity’s beneficiaries are women over the age of 16. - There may be some incidental private benefit based on how women choose to apply what they have learned outside of the organisation. 2. To educate such women in the principles of good citizenship and in all public questions both national and international; - The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are to: offering members the opportunity to learn about a wide range of social and recreational issues. - Constantly high attendance at meetings reflecting interest in the programme, and evidence of subsequent practical involvement. - We do not believe there is any clear harm flowing from this purpose. - The charity’s beneficiaries are women over the age of 16. - There is some evidence of some members choosing to apply their gained knowledge in their private lives. 3. To advance the education of the public by carrying out research into any public questions whether local, national or international and publishing the useful results of such research; - The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is a more grounded understanding of the issues covered in research. - These benefits will be evidenced through: inputs from members at guild meetings when research issues are discussed eg current topic for debate: protecting our green spaces; and the subsequent feedback from local and national conferences. - We do not believe there is any clear harm flowing from this purpose. - The charity’s beneficiaries are women over the age of 16. -There may be some incidental private benefit based on how women choose to apply what they have learned outside of the organisation 4. To advance the education of the public by promoting public understanding of any subject of educational value where woman have particular knowledge of experience; - The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are to: increase public knowledge of the subjects and offer the opportunity to enhance mental health. - These benefits will be evidenced through: inclusion in annual reports and by the subsequent support of local and national politicians through raising the issues relevant at Parliamentary level. - We do not believe there is any clear harm flowing from this purpose. - The charity’s beneficiaries are women over the age of 16. - There may be some incidental private benefit based on how women choose to apply what they have learned outside of the organisation 5. To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation for such women in the interests of social welfare and with a view to improving their conditions of life. - The benefits that flow from this purpose at are: increased skills and awareness, social opportunities for isolated women, and general social interaction. - This can be demonstrated through independent positive feedback from members and relevant beneficiaries. - There may be harm depending on the activity eg. Cooking, or as a result of eg. travel but these eventualities are covered by public liability insurance. - The charity’s beneficiaries are women over the age of 16. - There may be some incidental private benefit based on how women choose to apply what they have learned outside of the organization.
