Public benefits
The aims of the Birches Cosy Club are to improve the general lifestyle of all male and female members of our community who are in the 55+ year age range, through Education, recreation and social gatherings. Our members benefit from a full and varied annual programme aimed at stimulating them mentally and physically. As the majority live in rural
isolation, they would not normally be able to get out to meet other people socially or get involved with these types of activities. The benefits of our programme can be demonstrated by the success of our various outings to places of interest and also the activities which take place on site in the Birches Cosy Club. For example, they have thoroughly enjoyed art classes where they were able to paint a lovely picture to take home and display in their own homes, of which they were extremely proud! This is only one instance of what the members of the club enjoy. They also enjoy the music, dancing and sing-a-longs which we have on a monthly basis. There is no private benefit or potential harm in any of the activities which we, as a group, run. All of our staff are volunteers and enjoy their role and those who come along to help with the art classes, etc are professional people who have no connections to the Birches Cosy Club.
