Public benefits
The Northern Pharmacies Limited Trust Fund meets the public benefit in two ways: 1) The relief of sickness and the preservation and enhancement of health through the provision of funding for charitable funds, associations or institutions with a connection to the healthcare profession, and in particular pharmaceutical care, and in so doing
improving healthcare facilities and support for health professionals who provide services primarily in Northern Ireland. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved health outcomes and better patient care for those persons availing of pharmaceutical services funded in full or in part through grants made by the Trust and further afield as the facilities for care and provision for those caring for the patients are improved. The benefits are demonstrated through feedback to the Trustees from organisations receiving funding from the Trust and regular evaluation of our services. The purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are those persons availing of pharmaceutical services funded in full or in part through grants made by the Trust. The beneficiaries also include the family members and carers of those availing of the services. There is no private benefit. 2) The promotion and advancement of education through the provision of funding for the training, research and education of students and those in the pharmaceutical profession in Northern Ireland in matters related to the pharmaceutical profession and healthcare generally and the engagement in and support of activities designed to educate the general public in health matters. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include greater and more thorough knowledge and understanding of aspects of healthcare with a particular focus upon pharmaceutical matters. The purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are students, members of the pharmaceutical profession and the public generally in Northern Ireland. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose other than the incidental benefit of enhanced education of students, members of the pharmaceutical profession and the public generally in Northern Ireland.
