Seagoe FC is a community based football club which has been providing first class football coaching to local people since its establishment in 1979. Our primary goals are to provide recreational and sporting opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds from the local community. We also aim to be a cross community club, drawing
members and participants from all communities and religious and political backgrounds. Through football related activities, we aim to teach values such as fair play, sportsmanship, commitment and discipline as well as the core football skills. We believe sport and physical activity are important and can lead to a healthy lifestyle for years to come, hence we aim to create a pathway for sustained involvement in the game from junior age groups into adulthood. We aim to combat social exclusion, deprivation and inequality among young people in our community. While retaining our focus on football, we aim to have a wide reaching benefit in our community services to cater for a wide range of needs. We create a safe and neutral environment for local people of all ages, from all walks of life and all backgrounds to participate in community activity. We also strive to increase partnership between Seagoe FC, local residents, schools and voluntary organisations so that further opportunities are created to participate in social, recreational and educational activities. This can also help to break down obstacles between communities in the Portadown area.
