... [more] [less]What your organisation does
Horizons supports people affected by suicide. We provide practical, confidential support and give people the opportunity to meet with other people who have empathy for how they feel and what they are going through. As we are a group of people who have been personally affected by suicide and we may understand the pain, distress and confusion that
individuals and family's experience. We exist to support, inform and encourage those touched by suicide in the Greater Lisburn area. Every fortnight we have a Drop-In at the Bridge Community Centre in Lisburn and where possible we hold events to challenge the stigma and negativity that surround issues connected with suicide. We also take part in various Local and National events such as Suicide Survivors Day and the Tree of Lights. We also organise leaflet drops throughout the Greater Lisburn area to assist with awareness.
