Public benefits

The Band exists for all members of the public in the Church Hill area and promotes improved standards of musicianship within the band for existing members, and the provision of training in musicianship for all others who wish to participate. This is delivered by regular practise and training sessions provided by a qualified tutor and the provision

,free of charge of suitable instruments. It is demonstrated and promoted by regular public performances over a wide area and to diverse audiences. Members benefit by improved standards of musicianship and the public benefit by being given the opportunity to participate and also to see and hear a wide range of music performed in traditional brass band style keeping alive a tradition that has been in the area for over a century. There is no harm involved to anyone and no private benefit resulting.

What your organisation does

Maintains and supports a representative silver band in the Church Hill area with the provision of instruments and professional tuition to all members. Constantly seeks and encourages new members and provides free instruments and tuition and introduces them to a wide and diverse area of the arts provided by the playing of a brass

instrument. Maintains the cultural tradition of brass banding within the local area. Participates in a significant number of cultural events and public performances throughout the island of Ireland

Charitable purposes

To advance the education of those persons resident in the Church Hill area in the skills, arts and science of music performed by traditional brass bands. To promote and educate the public in the musical arts, with particular reference to the music presented by brass bands,by means of performances and other related activities, keeping the traditions of brass banding alive in the surrounding area.
