The benefits that flow from purpose (1) are: (i) an enhancement in skills, capacities and capabilities, particularly among young people with autistic spectrum disorder, resulting in a more independent and better quality of life; (ii) improvements in health and well-being, reduction in stress and a greater sense of hope among these young
people and their family members; (iii) an increase in participation in activities, resulting in heightened social interaction, social communication and integration. The benefit that flows from purpose (2) is an increased ability to secure employment. The benefit that flows from purpose (3) is a more equal and understanding society. The beneficiaries are people with autistic spectrum disorders and their family members. These benefits can be evidenced by internal and external evaluations of the work and impact of MAC (NI), records of the number of participants and their development and progress, and feedback from the beneficiaries. No harm or private benefit arises from these purposes.

MAC (NI) designs, provides facilities for and runs a number of training and personal development courses, programmes and recreational activities in order to develop confidence, motivation, and communication, leadership and social skills of young people people with autistic spectrum disorders. Advice, guidance and practical support is also offered
to family members.
