Public benefits
The charitable benefits provided to the public by Connsbrook Avenue Congregational Church (“the Church”) include the following:- (a) The provision of a place of public worship for the preaching of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is used for public worship on Sundays and midweek; (b) the teaching and instruction of all interested persons
about the Bible and the application of the teaching found therein; (c) the promotion of Christian faith and practice amongst members of the Church and the general public; (d) contribution to the spiritual wellbeing of members of the Church; (e) relief to those in spiritual and practical need locally and globally through support given to missionary activities. These benefits are demonstrated through the informal feedback from the members of the Church, from those who attend the Church, and those whose families benefit from the youth and other community activities run by the Church. No harm may arise from the Church’s purpose. The Church’s primary intended beneficiaries are those who attend the Church, but the local public also benefits through interaction with the Church and its members, and outside the local community others benefit through the missionary and relief work supported by the church. All of the Church’s activities are open to the general public and normally advertised on the website and no fees are charged to beneficiaries in order to access religious services. The only private benefit flowing from the purpose is related to the minister and other members of staff, who receive financial benefits and housing that are necessary and incidental to the carrying out of their duties.
