Public benefits

The trustees believe that all four purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement. 1 The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the preparation of each child for nursery/primary education through mastering the basic skills of expression, communication, problem solving, and the ability to relate to other children and

adults. These benefits are evidenced through feedback provided to the parents by the key worker for each child throughout the year. An annual inspection is carried out by the Social Services Trust which requests feedback from parents and this forms part of the report. There is no harm flowing from the purpose. The charity's beneficiaries are three to five year old preschool children in the local area, without regard to religious affiliation, or other beliefs of the families concerned. A private benefit to Trustees may arise occasionally through attendance at training for management committees, including finance. Through this training Trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to the provision of the benefit to our beneficiaries. 2. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the gaining of a wider understanding of the developmental and social needs and behaviours of children so that relevant care givers and professionals in education can tailor their care and educational programme according to the unique needs of every child. This benefit is evidenced through attendance of staff members at relevant training courses and feedback within the staff group of thoughts/opinions/information obtained. This purpose does not give rise to any harm.
