Public benefits
Public Benefit Statement The Trustees believe that our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement and none of them give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries are pupils of Mitchell House School and their families. Purpose one The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include pupils using specialised therapeutic equipment,
having access to special play areas and toys and getting specialist therapy. Pupils are able to move around independently, play with their peers and gain new skills and increased confidence. Demonstrated by pupils being happier and feedback from them and their parents. A private benefit is to the companies supplying the equipment and the Music Therapist who get paid. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose two The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include pupils having access to equipment to make their life easier both in school and at home and residential trips are paid for so pupils can experience being away from home and parents get respite. Demonstrated by feedback from parents and pupils. The private benefit is to companies providing equipment and accommodation. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose three The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include pupils being able to meet others at inter school sporting events, horse riding, donkey sanctuary and attend classes in other schools. Demonstrated by feedback from pupils and staff. No private benefit. Purpose four The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is that Friends of Mitchell House has money to use for the benefit of pupils of Mitchell House School. The benefits are demonstrated by the number of requests responded to by Friends Committee. A private benefit is to the company which is paid a fee to apply for funding. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose five The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is pupils have an enhanced school experience and can reach their potential. The benefit is demonstrated by increased exam success and feedback from pupils, parents and staff. A private benefit is to companies supplying specialist equipment.
