Purpose 1: To relieve poverty and to advance education in Omagh and the surrounding district (herinafter referred to as the 'area of benefit'): The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: workshop/event participants are more aware of their benefit entitlements; more aware how to apply for these benefits; participants have increased
financial awareness and are less stressed and have increased emotional well being These benefits will be evidenced by: verbal feedback at events and follow up visits at our Centre We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are people in the Omagh District Council area There is no private benefit from this activity OR The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is than a trustee will gain skills and knowledge through our information sessions. Through this trustees gain knowledge which is transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose 2: and in particular to provide welfare rights advice, information and assistance for people in necessitous circumstances: The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include - clients are: financially better off having received additional welfare benefits; less stressed about their financial difficulties; better able to meet demands of everyday living; are represented at Social Security and Industrial Tribunals which in turn leads to reinstatement of benefit or compensation. These benefits will be evidenced by customer satisfaction surveys; repeat client visits; financial outcome of cases; verbal appreciation from satisfied clients; number of positive outcomes as a result of Tribunal representation. We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are people in the Omagh District Council area The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is than a trustee may avail of the services but does so under normal protocol. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

We provide a free, confidential and independent advice, information and representational service on a wide range of welfare rights issues including Social Security, Debt, Consumer, Housing, Employment, Legal and Community Care issues. We offer an appointments system, drop-in sessions and a home visitation service to our clients. The centre also
provides free representation at Social Security Appeal Tribunals, Industrial Tribunals and Bankruptcy Hearings. We also offer talks and information sessions to local groups on request. We also offer a telephone Debt/Money Advice Helpline one evening per week and operate a website www.dealingwithcancer.co.uk which provides support and information to cancer patients and their families to enable them to deal with the financial impact of a cancer diagnosis.
