Public benefits

We provide support to isolated and rural members through promotion of education, confidence building, social events, health and wellbeing. We are a cross community older people's group and welcome members from across Armagh City and District and its environs. Older people are disadvantaged, many isolated in their own homes. We provide a venue

which is safe, happy and pleasant. From being involved in the group we feel the benefits for our members could be improved health and wellbeing and reduced levels of stress and anxiety. Also providing social inclusion and an opportunity to meet on a regular basis. Our committee regularly update members on latest information relevant to older people including attending pensioners parliament. We have a range of speakers relevant to our age group e.g. healthy eating, Fire and Rescue Service, Heart Foundation, Scams, local history, partially sighted, pain in the elderly and chemist. On occasions we meet with other clubs and we visit ill or absent members when the need arises. These benefits are demonstrated by number attending and feedback. The group is open to all over 60's and the beneficiaries are the over 60's attending from the Armagh area. There is no private benefit or harm flowing from the purposes.
