THE DIRECT BENEFITS WHICH FLOW FROM THE PURPOSE INCLUDE - Improved emotional wellbeing of members who attend - Respite for family members and Carers - People with learning disability
being able to participate in a wide range of activities CAN YOU DEMONSTRATE THIS? - Feedback from members and family members/carers - Members enjoy the wide range of activities at the Gateway Club and are encouraged to make suggestions THESE BENEFITS ARE DEMONSTRATED THROUGH ... A wide range of activities to suit all ages and capabilities of members The Club is run totally by volunteers (for 27 years) IS ANY HARM OR POSSIBILITY OF HARM OUTWEIGHED BY THE BENEFIT No CLUB'S BENEFICARIES Adults with a learning disability Their parents and carers IS THERE PRIVATE BENEFIT? "The relief of people with a learning disability in particular by the provision of help and support for them and for their families, dependants and Carers, and to prevent learning disabilities for the public benefit; and To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for the recreation or other leisure time occupation for people who have need thereof by reason of learning disability with the object of improving their conditions of life. Learning disability means any developmental disability of the mind and any associated condition howsoever caused and whether mild, moderate or severe."
