Public benefits

Templepatrick Reformed Church provides public benefit through: the public weekly services and other meetings arranged for the worship of God and the study of the Christian religion; the personal blessings that arise from the advancement of the Christian religion in the lives of church members and visiting members of the public; and the social

blessings that arise from the advancement of the Christian religion in the community. The benefit of the meetings arranged is demonstrated by the holding of several services each week and by the organisation of occasional special events, public meetings, outreach activities, conferences and fellowship opportunities, as advertised outside our meeting place, in the local press, and on-line. The benefit of personal blessings in the lives of individuals is demonstrated by regular attendances at church meetings, by those engaged in active membership, by the level of voluntary and unsolicited financial support for the church, by the frequency of access locally and internationally to on-line resources, and by testimony received by the minister and elders in relation to church activities and on-line resources, and reported annually to the members. The benefit to the community is demonstrated in the attendance at, engagement with, and responses received to outreach activities in the area; and in those who decide to attend weekly meetings and become members. There is no known harm done by any of the church’s activities. The church’s beneficiaries are its members, regular attenders, and their families, who are drawn mainly from Templepatrick and nearby towns and rural areas. The church also benefits those who attend its public services and outreach events from other regions of Northern Ireland, and also nationally and internationally, including those who access our on-line resources. The only private benefit provided by the church is the remuneration of its teaching elders (ministers or pastors) which is essential to the work of any church, and is incidental to the fulfilling of its beneficial purpose.
