Public benefits

The benefits that flow from the purposes are increased physical health and positive mental health benefits. Also reduced risk of anti-social behaviour of those involved in our club as well as creating positive community role models. These benefits are evidenced by user feedback surveys, community feedback, award recognition, active links with

community partners we collaborate with to tackle social issues in the Newlodge community - we are actively involved in programmes such as Midnight street boxing, and were involved in the "Boxer" Minding your head campaign. The purpose of our charity/club due to the nature of boxing may result in potential injury , reduced by our safety measures in place, coaching practice in line with gb guidance however we can demonstrate that this harm is outweighed by the benefits through community based interventions, the positive impact sport has on peoples confidence and self esteem and being involved in a what is a safe and controlled environment. The charity's benefices are young people and adults of all genders and abilitys from the Newlodge area and wider North Belfast catchment area.

What your organisation does

Provide access to the sport of boxing for the local community. Work in partnership with local youth groups and mental health charities to raise awareness ofs services available to members. Crime diversion and intervention e.g. midnight street boxing Mental Health - Provide patrons and role models e.g. it was our club and trainer in the "Boxer"

Minding your head campaign. We use our champions Paddy Barnes (olympic and commonwealth) and Michalea Walsh to inspire young people to get involved in sport for health benefits and to make a positive difference in their lives

Charitable purposes

The Association is for the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in particular by the provision of facilities for the practice of amateur boxing within the Newlodge area which has its environs of North Belfast (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort and in particular a. to maintain and manage or co-operate with any local authority, in the maintenance of a a centre or centres in area of benefit for activities promoted by the association (hereinafter called "the centre")
