Public benefits

Purpose 1 – Advancement of religion The direct benefits which flow from the advancement of religion include: The peace that accompanies a true faith in God. A change in lifestyle and outlook which accompany a true conversion. Improvement in mental health and well being. Better moral behaviour within society. Greater interaction with others.

Fulfilment and purpose in life. An increased number of people receiving free portions of the word of God. These benefits are demonstrated through: Personal testimonies of those whose lives have been changed for the better. Reports of improved mental wellbeing. Better morals in society. Evident changes in behaviour, eg telling the truth instead of lies, abstaining from damaging practices that adversely affect behaviour to oneself and others. A heightened sense of responsibility to others. The production, printing and distribution of 8 million “7 Steps John’s Gospels” in over 50 languages. The availability of volunteers to meet and discuss these issues with people. We have no evidence that the purposes of our charity harm anyone. Some people could be ‘annoyed’ by being confronted with God’s word but not harmed by it. No one is forced to listen or to accept portions of God’s word. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public both in Northern Ireland and other countries. The only private benefit is the joy of being involved in this work and seeing lives changed for the better. There is no financial or private benefit to trustees. Purpose 2 - Relief of those in need The direct benefits which flow from the relief of those in need include: Providing to alleviate some of the needs of those in poverty. This has involved the supply of food, water, housing, shelter, clothes etc. Responding to famine or disaster, working in conjunction with those bringing relief. Medical treatment for those who could not otherwise afford it. These benefits are demonstrated through: Personal testimonies of those helped. Reports given verbally or by letters, emails, photographs etc. Improvement in health following medical assistance. Improvement in living conditions. Increased self-esteem following aid given. We are not aware of these purposes leading to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public. In the case of disasters and famine these have usually been overseas in developing countries. People in the UK and Europe have also been assisted, including some of whom are poor, homeless and disabled. Again the only private benefit is the privilege of being involved in this work. There is no private benefit to trustees.

What your organisation does

Makes God's Word more widely available. Provides portions of God's Word in many languages. In most cases, portions of the Word of God are given free of charge, this includes approx 10 million of the John's Gospel 7 Steps booklet, every year. Volunteers meet with people whose lives have been changed for the better. Review feed-back in the form of

letters and reports giving testimony of positive life changes, as well as reports of many poor people receiving medical and spiritual help while in hospital in developing countries. One volunteer meets with approx 200 members of the public per month, promoting the Christian faith and the reading of the Bible. Discuss needs and areas where we can be involved to promote the Christian faith.
