The benefits which flow from purpose 1 include the improvement of social and community infrastructure, by taking part in training, being provided with relevant information and being able to access local facilities. This is demonstrated through feedback from members and participants on their experience through formal evaluation forms for all of
our services and in additional external evaluation is completed. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The charity’s benefits are provided to voluntary and community organisations operational across Northern Ireland. There is no private benefit from this purpose. 2. The benefits which flow from purpose 2 include the improvement of knowledge and skills of citizens and communities. This is demonstrated by the number of participants that get involved in activities, event, seminars, etc. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The charity’s benefits are provided to voluntary and community organisations operational across Northern Ireland. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is that trustees gain skills and experience which are transferrable to other settings, but these benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. 3. The benefits which flow from purpose 3 include raising awareness of the importance of health and well being in their community, including mental health, to empower communities to take action on the multi determinants of health (social, economic, environment and physical) This is demonstrated by the tools and resources we have introduced and which are evaluated directly by the beneficiaries. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The charity’s benefits are provided to the voluntary and community organisations operational across Northern Ireland. There is no private benefit from this purpose. 4. The benefits which flow from purpose 4 include raising awareness of the importance of practicing the principal of community development. This is demonstrated by the diversity of groups that we reach out to and the groups that access our training, information, support and guidance. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. 5. The benefits which flow from purpose 5 include the ability for the charity to be flexible in its approach to the delivery of services to beneficiaries as an when a new need develops. This is demonstrated by the feedback provided from the voluntary and community sector of their needs to the Charity Trustees. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The primary aim of the Network is to offer a community development service to voluntary and community groups and to focus on the practice of networking to all groups to share knowledge and experience. The Network aims to provide an opportunity for communities to have a voice and an influence, without compelling groups to loose their chosen identity
or different interests.
