Public benefits

The public benefit flowing from purpose 1 is to help promote the education of pre-school children aged 3 to 5 years in a community setting which is warm, friendly and stimulating and which adheres to all the regulations and stipulations laid down by Social Services. There is benefit for all the parents and families of these pre-school children in

that they have access to a pre-school setting which helps children to develop their skills, learn to communicate and play with other children, begin to learn responsibilities, working with others and accept the daily rules and regulations as set by the playgroup leaders. Parents benefit from having a safe secure environment close to their homes where they can monitor the progress of their child's development on a daily basis. They also benefit from being able to sit, if they choose on a management committee where they themselves can learn the skills of organisation, fundraising, administration. The benefits are measured by the numbers of families making use of the facility. They are also measured by the records that are kept by the staff on a daily basis. They are measured by the feedback which is given by both parents and children on a regular basis. Each child's records are maintained by the organisation. Any child presenting with difficulties will be brought to the attention of the parents in the first place who will be signposted to other sources of help outside the organisation should this be necessary. There are no harmful activities as health and safety is closely regulated by both the management team and Social Services with guidance from Early Years. There is no private benefit resulting from any of our activities except for the playgroup staff who are paid for their services to the group. This private benefit is incidental to the rest of the work of the organisation.
