The section of the community which benefits from the objects of Mourneview/Grey Estates Community Association is – Mourneview and Grey Estates. Details concerning how they benefit: • Social Welfare – The people of Mourneview and Grey Estates will be better equipped to address individual and collective social welfare issues as a result of
information sharing within the community. • Reducing isolation – Those most vulnerable within the community i.e. at risk vulnerable youth/adults will have a place/ community association where they can come for support. • Building capacity – The community will be provided with training/skills/educational resources in order to develop individual and collective capacity. • Social Integration – the community will have increased opportunities for participation in wider events such as fundays/festivals which will lead to improved social integration. • Community Involvement – Immediate community will have opportunities to work more closely with different sectors e.g education, faith, public/private sectors . • Development of young people – those most at risk within the community will be given opportunities within the educational/vocational field and will be supported in making good choices for their future. • The community will benefit in social , educational and vocational terms through the activities and support programmes provided. Public Benefit will be demonstrated by: Provision/engagement in educational training/skills development programmes such as computer training, driving skills, drugs/alcohol awareness programmes . Provision of and engagement in programmes which will develop potential within the creative arts field such as community re-imaging programmes. Training and engagement in programmes such as committee skills and good governance which will build the capacity for gaining knowledge and sharing information in a wider societal context. The provision of family friendly fundays and festivals which will enhance cultural and social sense of belonging. The community will benefit from programmes which explore shared spaces, and from opportunities to engage in programmes at a local interface level. The public benefit will be evaluated through monitoring openness and fairness within the charitable organisation e.g annual AGM, conversational feedback and monitoring increased participation in all events. Private benefit/potential harm: There is no private benefit or potential harm from the objects.
