Public benefits
The security, independence and interest of our country are protected; the Armed Forces have the training, equipment and support necessary to defend the country through joint working with our allies and partners abroad; lower cost to the tax payer through having a simpler and more effective organisation. This is demonstrated through government and
the National Audit Office regular reporting. The beneficiaries are clearly the citizens of the United Kingdom as the first principle of any government is to protect their citizens. There is no private benefit in this. However there can be harm to the crown servants tasked to deliver such objectives which is manifested in numbers of war wounded and indeed PTSD cases which are freely available government statistics.
