Public benefits

The direct benefits from our work include the provision of treatment and rehabilitation for children with disabilities, with the emphasis on orthopaedic and plastic surgery, in addition to extensive outpatient services. These benefits are clearly demonstrated through the dramatic changes in the children treated. This also means significant change

for families, who might have been ostracised due to their child being regarded as cursed. We believe there is unlikely to be anything harmful arising. The beneficiaries are disabled children and their families, particularly those who are living in poverty or in remote areas, with no access to medical services. Help is given solely on the basis of need, without regard to political or religious affiliation. We are unaware of any private benefit, other than that arising indirectly through the training of, and experience gained by, the staff.
