Public benefits

Charitable Object No (1) (1) To preserve and protect for the public benefit buildings or structures of particular beauty or of historic environmental arhitectural industrial or construction merit or interest in and near Glenarm in the County of Antrim. Pubic Benefit Statement No (1) The benefit is for the general public, including local

residents from Glenarm and all those that visit the area. The benefit is clearly that builidngs and places of significance are protected and preserved so that the area retains its important historical and heritage links. This helps retain a strong sense of identity and tradition within the area and ensures that future generations of local people and visitors to the area can continue to access, enjoy and learn about these important physical assets. There is no potential harm to the public in the furtherance of this charitable purpose and there is no private benefit which flows from this purpose. Charitable Object No (2) To restore renovate and conserve gardens parkland planned landscapes and other open spaces and land related to such buildings and structures. Public Benfit Statement No (2) The benefit is for the general public, including local residents from Glenarm and all those that visit the area. The benefit is that buildings and places of historical and heritage interest are renovated and restored to a high standard. This retains original building and their distinct features, alongiside keeping parks and plannned landscapes to a high standard, so that they can continue to be accessed and enjoyed by all who choose to visit them. There is no potential harm to the public in the furtherance of this charitable purpose and there is no private benefit which flows from this purpose.

What your organisation does

GBPT works with statutory agencies to identify opportunities for preservation, it draws down grant aid to renovate and restore buildings and finds new uses to make them sustainable. GBPT promotes and encourages the education of the public in our heritage by engaging in research and drawing down funds to recruit volunteers and to train and

educate the community about the significance of the local heritage and history.
