Public benefits
Armagh Pipers Club exists to advance the arts, heritage and culture, specifically by providing an education programme in traditional music and song, along with associated activities such as the publication of tutor books and the organisation of an annual festival of pipe-based music. The activities of the charity provide direct benefits to
individuals through opportunities to attend and participate in evening classes, concerts and performances, and building skills and confidence among the Club’s students. There are wider benefits to the community through the preservation and enrichment of the cultural traditions of the region; the creation of out-of-school activities for children; the promotion of music within families, boosting intergenerational contact and solidarity; and fostering awareness and appreciation of Irish and other traditional music cultures. The annual festival provides incidental benefit to the tourism and hospitality sector in and around Armagh.

Armagh Pipers Club's objectives are the advancement of arts and culture, in particular the promotion of Irish traditional music and song, along with the related music of Scotland, England, Wales, Brittany, Cape Breton, Asturias and other regions. APC’s primary activities include an Education Programme which in recent years has involved some 30
expert tutors delivering weekly music classes to around 200 students who come from eight counties. The Education Programme is complemented by numerous performance opportunities and master-class workshops throughout the year. We have a proven track record within musical education with many of our previous students going on to work within the sectors of musical education, performance and production. In addition to public concerts, sessions and workshops, we have since 1994 organised the annual international William Kennedy Piping Festival (WKPF). The WKPF is a world class music festival, attracting participants and audiences from all over Ireland, Britain, continental Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australasia.
