Public benefits

The beneficiaries are: Older people (aged 60+) living in the Donemana and surrounding rural area. The direct benefit which flows from our purpose includes reduced social isolation and improved health outcomes and reduced stress. Another benefit is increased knowledge of the environmental conservation. Indirect beneficiaries are: The families

of those older people who come along will benefit as increase in benefits will relieve poverty within the family. Families will also experience less stress and worry due to improved health & wellbeing of their loved ones. The direct benefits are demonstrated by monitoring the number of people attending the services. We also regularly complete surveys with the users to monitor the benefits. There is no harm to beneficiaries. The private benefit is incidental and necessary as we will purchase the meals for the luncheon club and meals on wheels service

What your organisation does

The organisation provides luncheon club, two days per week and meals on wheels service 7 days per week to local older people some who are house bound and unable to leave their homes. We also organise bingo, tables quizes, arts & Crafts and other social activities for the older people to reduce social isolation in this rural area. We are currently

working in partnership with other groups to seek funding to provide allotments so that local dwellers may grow their own produce and improve the local environment. We have also organised a number of key speakers to inform our clients of a range of benefits, services and programmes available to benefit their overall health and wellbeing.
