Public benefits
The benefits which flow from the first purposes are:- The choir practices culminate in performances and, to date, several concerts have been staged, which has involved also working with an African children's choir, and an American adult choir. This has promoted the children’s appreciation for Christian Music. The choir members come from all
aspects of background and religious beliefs within Ballymena and its environs, and thus strong cross community relationships between children have been formed which ultimately helps to promote a stable local environment, and benefit the local community. The friendships that have been nurtured amongst the choir members, will influence the children, as they reach adulthood to promote stable cross community friendships which will have a positive impact on the community long term. The benefits which flow from the second purpose:- The various events held have facilitated relationships with the children and children/people from other countries. Working with children from different backgrounds allows the choir to raise awareness of different cultures, different music backgrounds, and continue to raise awareness and appreciation of Christian Music beyond local confines The benefits flowing from the third purpose:- The various events held have allowed for substantial fund raising to occur and to date around 50% of funding required to build school has already been raised. Once funds are raised, the school will be commenced and this will lead to the following benefits for the children in Uganda Children in deprived areas will be given the facility to be educated and be allowed to build a better future for themselves. The beneficiaries of the purposes:- The beneficiaries of the purposes are primarily children ranging in age from 7 to 16, who met to practice regularly throughout the winter months. Members of Raise the Roof Children's choir come from varied backgrounds and religious beliefs within Ballymena. Eventually the beneficiaries will also include the children attending the school in Uganda. Demonstration of benefits These benefits will be demonstrated by positive feedback and evaluation Harm:- There is no harm that we foresee arising from this project. Private benefit:- The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is experience and expertise of Trustees which may be used in other voluntary roles further at some point in the future.
