Some feel isolated as a result of bereavement while other living in a rural area experience social isolation, attending these weekly events make them feel more socially included in the community and an outlet for them to socialise with others of a similar age. PRIVATE BENEFIT There is no private benefit form the activities of the group.

What your organisation does

Time 4 Me was formed in 2007 by local women who identified a need in our community for a group to organise social and recreational activities for older women, many of whom are socially isolated through widowhood, declining health and lack of financial resources. Our main focus is to improve the quality of their lives, by encouraging them to become

more integrated in the community and feel better about themselves. We provide craft classes, cookery demonstrations and social outings, in the rural areas isolation is a major issue, these programs allow older women to enjoy each other company and reminisce their lives. The programs are arranged by 4 voluntary committee members, they apply for funding, arrange tutors and ensure the premises are ready for the classes and meetings.
