Public benefits
1. The beneficiaries of the organisation are the population living in our area who (or whose family) participate in our varied activities, attend our events, or are supported through advice from the group or the wider activities of the group 2. They benefit through the provision of events and services (ie social events such as concerts, coffee
mornings, or other events such as the annual Gardening Competition, weekly youth club, etc); also the provision of a centre for events such as birthday parties, meetings etc; through the presence of a strong community voice on issues of local concern - recently, for example, traffic congestion, speeding, dog fouling, etc; through the promotion of the area's unique heritage (building community spirit and encouraging visitors to the area) and a cohesive community approach (in the past the group has been able to steer a course through difficult situations involving symbols and flags, for example). 3. The benefits can be demonstrated through the strong sense of community spirit which results in numbers attending events, from verbal comments to Association members and feedback from the beneficiaries as well as more tangible benefits to the community through grant drawdowns such as was the case in 2014 through the Village Renewal Programme (this resulted in creation of an amphitheatre and new seating on the village green). 4. There is no private benefit whatsoever and therefore no potential harm to the reputation of the group or to the community generally.
