Public benefits

The provision of Educational programs to benefit the inhabitants of the Kilkeel area and its outlying environs in the South Down area; Public benefit statement: The trustees believe that both elements of the public benefit requirement are satisfied. The direct benefits flowing from this purpose are that the inhabitants of Kilkeel will have access

to educational programs to help enrich their leisure time that otherwise would not be available. These benefits can be evidenced by feedback from the people who take part in the courses. The purpose of the Community Association is beneficial and there is no harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the members of the public that attend the courses. The provision of facilities in which the social welfare of the inhabitants of Kilkeel can use for their recreational and leisure time and also in which the educational programs can be run; Public benefit statement: The trustees believe that both elements of the public benefit requirement are satisfied. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are that beneficiaries have a community centre which is open to all regardless of sex, race or political, religious or other opinions. These benefits can be evidenced by feedback from the attendees. The purpose is beneficial and there is no harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are all the inhabitants of the Kilkeel area and its environs as it is open to all who require it. In relation to all of the above, a private benefit to trustees and staff may arise from training in good governance, finance and other educational programs that would be available to all. Through this training, skills and experience are acquired which are transferable to other work places. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Kilkeel Community Association provides for the local inhabitants a Parent and Toddler group, various programs for Older Citizens throughout the year and a social meeting group with light lunch for Older Citizens. Through these programs and activities Kilkeel Community Association aims to promote good community relations through all age groups and

thereby improving life for all the inhabitants of Kilkeel and its surrounding areas.

Charitable purposes

The purpose of Kilkeel Community Association is to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Kilkeel area and its environs(the "area of benefit") without distinction of sex, race or political, religious or other opinions by advancing education and providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
