The beneficiaries of the work of Larne YMCA are young people and their families and carers living in N Ireland, especially those in the Mid and East Antrim council area. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 1 are to enable young people to deal with issues with confidence and knowledge. It will also support purpose 2 by giving young
people the resilience to overcome problems and reduce of stress and anxiety among young people. These benefits are evidenced through a) feedback from parents and carers of young people b) internal measurers of engagement in programmes and activities by young people c) Feedback from beneficiaries and their families ,and d) Regular independent evaluation of our services by program funding bodies. e) Engagement of young people in active citizenship. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 2 is to enable young people to deal with issues with confidence and knowledge. It will give young people the resilience to overcome problems and reduce stress and anxiety among young people. The benefits of this are evident in the reduction of poor health in young people and positive engagement by young people in wider community, school and recreational activities. The work is delivered in YMCA premises and in the local community by the YMCA with partners who see day to day evidence of the change in behaviours. These include schools, Councils, and other external organisations. In meeting purpose 3 Larne YMCA recognises young people do not live in isolation from family, community and other institutions in society therefore the benefits from this purpose consist of ; • increased opportunities for volunteering • Opportunities for active citizenship and increased support for community activities, improved community relations and racial harmony and reduced sectarianism. The tangible benefits are demonstrated by increased family and community activity, increased dialogue across community divides, the training of volunteers and feedback from volunteers, leaders, other stakeholders e.g. schools and participants. The benefits of purpose 4 are that individuals are better equipped to make improved life choices and will have gained skills of independent living and reduced dependency on others. The tangible benefits are demonstrated by increased family and community activity, and volunteering. Evidence comes from and feedback from volunteers, leaders, other stakeholders e.g. schools and participants. There is no anticipated harm arising from the purposes of Larne YMCA . All activities and programs are subject to risk assessment and review before commencement. Action is taken to eliminate or mitigate any risks identified.

Larne YMCA provides services for children and young people in the Larne borough area. These include a) a daily After School project for children of primary school age which operates full time durign school holidays. The project provides a varied programme of activities with the emphasis on the importance and benefit of play. b) Youth programme for
7-18 year olds; this programme supports their personal and social development through a range of activities and special projects such as health, leadership, sport, recreation, art etc. Larne YMCA is also active in the local community working in partnership with other groups to deliver joint projects which enhance the lives of local people.
