Public benefits

3.1.1 Christian belief offers people a set of values by which to live and make decisions as to how people should interact with fellow humans - Morals and ethics are the basis of civilised behaviour - There is academic research that shows the Christian faith is good for people’s psychological well being. – British law has its roots in Christian

beliefs i.e. Do not steal, Do not murder etc. We actively seek ways to engage and reach individuals in the community and local area in order to meet the spiritual needs; as a natural consequence emotional and physical needs are met also. The public benefits can be demonstrated in that the church has grown since the first meeting in June 2005 and the feedback from beneficiaries which is obtained regularly and available. The church's beneficiaries are the general public and anyone we come into contact with through outreach into the community. We do not believe this purpose causes any harm. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is the monthly salary to the church's Pastor. This is incidental as it is necessary to ensure the church has leadership, guidance and teaching in order to continue to benefit the beneficiaries. 3.1.2 The direct benefits from this purpose include health, well being and reduction of stress and anxiety are promoted when physical, emotional and practical needs are provided particularly in times of crisis, hardship and suffering. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from those who attend the church, and also from reports and letters sent through from organisations and individuals who have received help from our purpose. The church's beneficiaries are the general public and anyone we come into contact with through outreach into the community. We do not believe this purpose causes any harm and can see no obvious private benefit flowing from this purpose. 3.1.3 The direct benefits from this purpose include the promotion of increasing the individual and collective knowledge of the Christian faith through the consistent study of the bible and the practical application of this knowledge in day to day life. This is demonstrated when the lives of those who receive teaching put this into practise in their everyday living and their lives are changed as a result. This change is evident and examples from beneficiaries are obtained regularly and available. The church's beneficiaries are the general public and anyone we come into contact with through outreach into the community. This includes those who attend the children's bible club, Sunday school and meetings for young people. We do not believe this purpose causes any harm. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is a small monthly gift to cover some of the the costs of one of the trustees who visits school assembles and organised children's bible clubs in Ballynahinch and throughout Down. This is incidental as it is necessary to ensure our part of our purpose in advancing religious education to children and young people.
