Public benefits

The directors of Redeemer Central believe that each of its four Objects satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirement. Object 1 The direct benefits that flow from this Object include the facilitation of regular public worship that provides for the spiritual wellbeing of society. These benefits are demonstrated by the members of the

public who choose to attend our worship gatherings and the feedback they provide. This Object does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this Object are any members of the general public who choose to attend worship gatherings. A private benefit flowing from this Object is that gained by certain members of the leadership team who are employed by the charity and who therefore receive a reasonable but not excessive salary, as well as any training necessary, in order to fulfil their role in advancing the Christian faith. From time to time, members of the leadership team may be required to travel to such locations as the directors see fit in order to receive training or advance the Christian faith through preaching and teaching, and in such circumstances the charity may meet the reasonable, but not excessive, travel costs incurred. These benefits are incidental to the provision of the public benefit. Object 2 This Object is a general one which allows the charity to promote and fulfil any purposes which are expressly charitable and which will provide benefits to the general community in Belfast, Ireland, the United Kingdom or such other parts of the world as the directors may from time to time think fit. Any new activities which the directors are considering must therefore be analysed to ensure they are clearly charitable and demonstrably for the public benefit. It is not anticipated that there would be any harm from such activities, and any private benefits would be incidental to the provision of the benefit to the community. Object 3 The direct benefit that flows from this Object is the relief of those in need, such as provision for the needs of people suffering from hunger, poor nutrition, lack of shelter, sickness, social exclusion or other hardships. These benefits are demonstrated by the feedback of those members of society whose hardships have been alleviated. This Object does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this Object are any members of the general public who are in need and choose to attend free events held by our charity, or who are otherwise put in touch with our charity. A private benefit may flow from this Object if our charity employs staff to carry out work in relieving those in hardship, as such staff would earn a reasonable, but not excessive, salary and potentially receive training that could be of benefit to the staff member more generally. Another incidental private benefit is that of the suppliers from whom any food or other goods/services are purchased by the charity to use in the alleviation of the needs of the beneficiaries. Additionally, from time to time, members of the church or its leadership team may benefit incidentally when a service is being provided to those in hardship, such as when sharing a meal being provided for those in need. Any such benefits would be clearly incidental to the provision of the public benefit and necessary to ensure that the social needs of the beneficiaries are not neglected. Object 4 The direct benefit that flows from this Object is the educational value provided by the religious and Biblical teaching being offered by our charity. These benefits are demonstrated by members of the public choosing to receive the teaching and the feedback they provide. This Object does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of the Object are any members of the general public who choose to attend our teaching sessions. No private benefits are expected to flow from this Object, other than the possibility that the charity will employ staff who would receive reasonable, but not excessive, remuneration in order to provi

What your organisation does

Redeemer Central holds worship gatherings each Sunday that are open to the general public. Whilst the format of the Sunday gatherings is variable, generally it will include both sung worship and Bible teaching. There is also a Kids Work programme in order to provide a Biblical education to young people. The church has smaller missional gatherings

that meet in various locations and seek to serve the spiritual or physical needs of their community.
