Public benefits

By having general charitable purposes, the Management Committee/Trustees are able to help a diverse range of projects and are not restricted in who or what they help as different situations present themselves. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is that the trustees will make grants and financial contributions to any charitable need

that they feel worthy of financial assistance. We will judge each case on merit and need and recognise that it must be for one of the twelve charitable purposes as outlined in the Charities Act. These benefits are evidenced through the financial support of charitable work by other organisations and relieving financial hardship to individuals who are in need. For example we have financially supported: a charity which provides a refuge to men who have serious problems; PIPS who are dealing with a spate of suicides in the Mourne area; oxygen therapy charity; a primary school and provided financial assistance to individuals that have fallen on hard times and are in serious need. The financial assistance provided reduces the level of hardship and stress to people at particularly difficult times in their lives. We also provide continued financial aid to support the charitable work of Rachel’s Place orphanage in Lesotho. We are currently helping to send a lorry of shoes to Africa. Our beneficiaries are people living in our immediate area of Mourne, Northern Ireland and anywhere in the world, Like Lesotho and South Africa There is no private benefit or harm.
