Public benefits
Benefits: Muslims in the area need religious guidance and pastoral care, in relation to their worship, pastoral support during illness and when they are admitted to hospitals, provision of funeral arrangements, community support for women who gather in groups for sharing of problems, education and supporting each other. Regular meetings are held by
women every week, for these purposes. Muslim children need religious and Arabic language teaching, and this is done on weekly basis by voluntary teachers from the community. This education is vital for their religious beliefs and practices, and they cannot get this in local schools. Frequent social events are held to bring all muslims together to interact with each other. This is to provide a social outlet for muslims, who otherwise may not get opportunities to socialise. Muslim mothers hold a toddlers’ Group session frequently, and bring their toddlers along to play with each other, read books and watch Videos. This encourages a sense of belonging to our community, amongst children and toddlers. The charity also works to bring together members of various faiths and cultures, for better understanding of Islam, and to learn about other faiths. This is to encourage better integration of muslims into the local society, and to develop understanding, tolerance and respect for other faiths and cultures Demonstration of Benefits: Many children now have gained religious knowledge and have learnt Arabic language to enable them to read the Holy Book, and to enable them to practise their religion properly. This is an on-going service. Women have been actively supporting each other in times of social problems and difficulties, like marriage breakups, family problems, financial problems, and have found great support and benefit from our charity, through their regular meetings. In the absence of our association, our members, both men and women, would have been very reluctant to approach other organisations for help. Hence our organisation has been of vital importance to them all along. Their continued membership of our association is valid proof of their satisfaction and appreciation. The evidence of these benefits is the expression of their satisfaction, continued membership of our charity, and a strong sense of support and belonging to our association. As proof of efforts to encourage multicultural understanding, our organisation held a multicultural event at the Town Hall in September 2014, inviting Mayor, Councillors, representatives of various support groups and churches forum, to promote better understanding of Islam. Such events were held in past years, and the association plans to holde future events on frequent basis There is NO harm flowing from our purposes. All our members have only derived benefit. Private Benefit All members are voluntary and do not take any fees or salary. Hence there is no private benefit for anyone.
