Public benefits

(1) Advance to the benefit of the public the protection and improvement of the environment through the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy. The benefit which flows from this purpose is an improvement in the quality of the environment, leading to enhanced health, safety and quality of life of the public. These benefits are evidenced

by surveys concerning the adoption of good environmental practice, records of the uptake of environmental information, advice and consultancy and the dissemination of research findings. This purpose does not result in any harm or private benefit. (2) Advance the education of the public in energy efficiency and renewable energy. The benefits that flow from this purpose are enhanced knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to energy efficiency and renewable energy and of the alternative energy options available to businesses, organisations and communities. These benefits are evidenced by surveys of the extent and level of knowledge and understanding among the public of the issues and options available. This purpose does not result in any harm or private benefit.

Action Renewables supports renewable energy development, develops and supports European Projects, offers quality assurance to the renewable energy industry – Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation and provides advice and information to Government.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are to: (1) Advance to the benefit of the public the protection and improvement of the environment through the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy by: (i) promoting good environmental practice; (ii) providing information and advice; (iii) providing consultancy services to communities; (iv) conducting research relating to the utilisation of energy conservation practices and renewable energy technologies and to use the research for the public benefit. (2) Advance the education of the public in energy efficiency and renewable energy by increasing awareness of the benefits of reducing carbon emissions and of promoting effective ways to make such reductions.
